Festivalin Ardından: Paylaşım, Dayanışma ve Anılar

12–15 Şubat 2026 tarihleri arasında Datça’da gerçekleşen Badem Çiçeği Festivali’ni geride bırakırken, festival boyunca yaşadıklarımızı ve bizim için anlamlı olan anları, Heritage Homes Atalık Evler ekibi olarak sizinle paylaşmak istiyoruz.

Birlikte ürettiğimiz, komşularımızla omuz omuza verdiğimiz ve tarihi yapılarımızda ağırladığımız misafirlerimizle samimi bağlar kurduğumuz bu güzel festival günlerinden geriye kalanları sizinle paylaşmak için derledik.

Geleneksel Hamur Açma Atölyesi: Unun, emeğin ve hatıranın izinde

Reşadiye’nin yerel hafızalarından biri olan kıymetli komşumuz Candan Teyze ile ‘Geleneksel Hamur Açma Atölyesi’ gerçekleştirdik. Kendisinden hamur açmanın inceliklerini öğrenirken, Candan Teyzemizin çocukluğundan bugüne taşıdığı hatıraları ve paylaştığı kadim bilgiler de bize eşlik etti. ‘Hamur ne kalın olacak ne de ince’ derken aslında bir tarifi değil, bir yaşam deneyimini aktardı.

Dağdan bayırdan toplanan otların isimleri, değirmenlerde öğütülen unlar ve konağın eski günlerine dair anılar… Bu sohbetler, yerel bilginin ne kadar kıymetli ve yaşatılması gereken bir miras olduğunu bize bir kez daha hatırlattı.

Konak Kapıları Açıldı: Ziyaretçiler 200 yıllık hikayeyle buluştu

Festivalin ilk iki gününde, Reşadiye’ye destek vermek ve bölgenin kültürel hafızasını görünür kılmak amacıyla Heritage Homes Atalık Evler’in tarihi yapılarından biri olan Mehmet Ali Ağa Konağı’nın kapılarını ziyaretçilere açtık. Profesyonel tur rehberi ve Datça Dağcılık ve Doğa Sporları Kulübü tırmanış lideri, sevgili dostumuz Onur Yurtbaşı’nın anlatımı ile 14 konak turu gerçekleştirdik. Konak, bu süreçte yaklaşık 600 ziyaretçiyi ağırladı. Bu ziyaretler, bizim için; tarihi yapıların hikayeleri anlatıldığında ve paylaşıldığında, nasıl yeniden ‘yaşayan mekanlara’ dönüştüğünü hissettiğimiz bir deneyim oldu.

Toprağı Onaran Lezzetler: İşlevsel Ormanlar

Yaşamı toprağa geri vermek...

Muğla Köyceğiz'de, 120 dönümlük arazide biyoçeşitliliği arttırarak doğayı onarma faaliyetlerinde bulunan İşlevsel Ormanlar ekibinden değerli arkadaşımız Tolga Avcil festivalde fotoğraf ve video çekimlerimize destek vermek üzere bizimleydi.

Aynı zamanda kendisi ile birlikte İşlevsel Ormanlar’ın doğal ürünlerinin yer aldığı ‘Pazar Yeri’ standını kurduk. Stantta; mis kokulu bergamotlar, kuru limon otu çayları, el yapımı sabunlar ve portakal chutneyler misafirlerimizle buluştu. Dalından taze limon ve portakal almak isteyen misafirlerimizi, doğrudan İşlevsel Ormanlar'ın Yangı'daki arazisine yönlendirdik. Siz de bu doğal ürünleri keşfetmek isterseniz,

Sepet Örme Atölyesi: Ustalık, sabır ve el emeği

Festivalin ikinci gününde, Candan Teyzemizin eşi, Reşadiyeli komşumuz ve aynı zamanda konağın restorasyonunda ahşap işlerine katkı sunan kıymetli dülger Ergin Usta ile ‘Sepet Örme Atölyesi’ gerçekleştirdik. Hayıt, sakızlık ve kargıyla örülen sepet; nesilden nesile aktarılan bir zanaatın yaşayan örneğiydi. Ergin Usta’nın ‘Her çubuktan her sepet olmaz’ sözü, yerel bilginin nasıl bir dikkat ve seçicilikle günümüze taşındığını çok güzel anlatıyordu.

After the Festival: Shared Effort, Solidarity, and Lasting Memories

As we conclude the Almond Blossom Festival held in Datça from February 12 to 15, 2026, we, the Heritage Homes team, would like to share a brief selection of moments that were particularly meaningful to us. Throughout these days, the festival became more than a seasonal celebration. It evolved into a space where people connected with one another, with place, and with the cultural and ecological heritage that continues to shape the region.

Below, we have compiled the key highlights from days when we created together, worked side by side with our neighbors, and built genuine connections with the guests we welcomed into our historic homes.

Traditional Hand Rolled Pasta Workshop: In the footsteps of flour, craft, and living memory

We hosted a ‘Traditional Hand Rolled Pasta Workshop’ with our valued neighbor, Aunt Candan, one of Reşadiye’s cherished bearers of local memory. While learning the fine details of rolling dough, we were also accompanied by the memories and enduring knowledge she has carried from her childhood to the present.

When she said, “The dough should be neither too thick nor too thin,” she was offering more than a recipe. She was sharing a lived practice shaped by time. The names of herbs gathered from the hills, flour once milled in local mills, and stories from the mansion’s earlier days all found their place in our conversation. Moments like these remind us that local knowledge is a cultural heritage that gains strength when it is shared and sustained.

The Mansion Doors Opened: Visitors encountered a two hundred year old story

During the first two days of the festival, we opened the doors of Mehmet Ali Ağa Mansion, one of Heritage Homes’ historic properties, to support Reşadiye and to make the region’s cultural memory more visible. With narration by our dear friend Onur Yurtbaşı, a professional tour guide and climbing leader of the Datça Mountaineering and Outdoor Sports Club, we hosted 14 guided mansion tours.

Across these two days, the mansion welcomed nearly 600 visitors. For us, the experience reaffirmed that historic buildings become truly alive when their stories are told, listened to, and carried forward.

Flavors That Restore the Soil: Functional Forests

Giving life back to the soil…

In Köyceğiz, Muğla, the Functional Forests team carries out regenerative practices across 120 decares of land, restoring nature by increasing biodiversity and strengthening ecological balance. During the festival, our valued colleague Tolga Avcil joined us and supported our photo and video documentation.

Together, we also set up the Market Place stand featuring Functional Forests’ natural products. Fragrant bergamots, dried lemongrass teas, handmade soaps, and orange chutneys were shared with our guests. We also directed guests who wished to pick fresh lemons and oranges straight from the tree to Functional Forests’ land in Yangı.

Basket Weaving Workshop: Mastery, patience, and handcraft

On the second day of the festival, we hosted a ‘Basket Weaving Workshop’ with Master Ergin, Aunt Candan’s husband, our neighbor in Reşadiye, and a master carpenter who also contributed to the mansion’s woodwork during its restoration. The basket he wove using chaste tree branches, mastic shoots, and reeds was a living example of a craft passed down through generations. Master Ergin’s words, “Not every branch can become every basket,” expressed the care, patience, and discernment required to carry local knowledge forward.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who stood with us, supported one another, and contributed their effort during this gathering.
